I have a prayer request. Robin Hefferin needs our prayers. Some "old timers" might remember Mrs. Hefferin, my son's old Cub Scout leader. Mrs. Hefferin resigned from Cubs several years ago due to a health concern , resulting in stress that made her difficult to work with. She is a very special and beloved woman. My friend Kathy is my age (43) and has been suffering for almost 20 years from colitis. She was prescribed steroids many years ago when things were still more experimental. The dose was too strong and as a result she developed severe osteoporosis. She partly recovered but has so many other health problems related to the steroids and colitis. We returned from Don's (DH) sabbatical on August 20th; Dave had gone into surgery on August 18th for a tumor on his neck. (He's two other bouts with this cancer - one in 1998 and one in 2001.) What he didn't tell us was....a lot! (We were gone; he didn't want to worry us...)

There were 2 tumors. Another one under his tongue.
